Synopsis: Mice take sentient carrots, vicious police potatoes terrorize community.
Comments: Iris on establishing kitchen shot, zoom in quickly; so it's clearly not a WB cartoon... Cops drinking on the beat. Specter of death? Nut cracker with a napkin? My assumption is it's a carrot peeler... Cops being potatoes is arguably racist. They generally beat and torture innocent bystanders. The rolling pin moves nicely. So the villain is mice with some kind of thing. Really, they should be above the potatoes on the food chain. There are times when the potato has many eyes on his body (in keeping with the name of the little white things on potatoes). The toaster has a great symbol. The potatoes sometimes look like the California Raisins.
This cartoon appears (in truncated form) in the first episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse. This is the only 1939 cartoon to appear in the show.
